Where local values come from
The hardness values come from the existing Water Score Luxembourg locality pages, which cite the Administration de la gestion de l’eau (AGE) as their source. The recovery date, 16 October 2026, is distinct from a measurement date. Updates are made manually.
The official AGE page on drinking water monitoring and quality explains the Luxembourg context. For recent results at your address, consult your municipality’s or supplier’s reports, checking their date and the supply network concerned.
Dated laboratory analyses
Analysis tables are available on 199 locality pages, using AGE, SEBES, AGROLAB and Luxcontrol reports in the project’s collection. Each table separates the supply network, check date and sampling date of each parameter. Sources are identified by laboratory and report reference.
Automated extraction undergoes technical checks for sample identity, units, dates, locality links and consistency. Blocking cases remain under review; conflicting values are not averaged. Technical validation does not establish drinking-water compliance. « < » remains a detection limit.
The Water Score scale and calculator retain their historical hardness reference. The new analyses are not combined into a health score. Data is prepared and included when the website is published, with no real-time measurement or automatic refresh.
Hardness and deposits: a WQA reference
The Water Quality Association’s (WQA) Scale Deposits page explains the role of calcium and magnesium in hardness, deposits and soap performance. It provides background for understanding these everyday effects.
Further reading: water softeners
Getting Smart with Softeners introduces WQA best practices for sizing, setting up, installing and maintaining residential water softeners. The publication provides technical background for readers who want to explore the subject further.
Connecting sources and results
The locality pages provide reference values, WQA publications explain general effects, and our methodology describes the calculator’s internal assumptions. Visit the directory for your locality, or the About page to suggest a documented correction.
